Silver rate by city.
There is one bullion market and every city quotes from it. What changes between towns is the premium, the making charge and the local association's board — not the metal.

The trade in Khandwa.
Khandwa sits on the Nimar plain with cotton and banana farming around it, so buying clusters after those sales rather than following a salaried calendar. The town is close to the Maharashtra border and its jewellers watch the Mumbai bullion market alongside the state's own, which can put its counter rate a touch ahead of towns further east on a fast-moving day.
Khandwa's shops trade out of the Khandwa sarafa bazaar. Because they all price off the same board above, the honest way to compare two quotes is to ask each shop for the metal rate, the making charge and the wastage as three separate numbers.
Gold rate today in KhandwaThe same board, led by gold. How the rate in Khandwa is actually set.
Gold is quoted per 10 grams and silver per kilogram, the way every sarafa board in the country posts them. India imports most of its gold and silver, so the rate starts abroad: the international price in dollars per troy ounce, converted at the day's rupee rate, plus import duty and the bullion market's own premium. That is the number on this page, and it moves all day.
From there each shop builds its counter price. A 22K (22 carat) ornament is quoted at the 22 carat metal rate, then making charges are added — a percentage of the metal value or a fixed amount per gram — along with wastage, the value of stones, hallmarking, and 3% GST on the total. Two shops quoting different totals on the same day are almost always differing on making, not on metal.
What to ask for. A proper tax invoice shows the metal rate, the net weight, making charges, stone value and GST as separate lines, with the BIS hallmark and HUID for every hallmarked piece. If a bill shows one lump sum, ask for the breakup — you are entitled to it.
Questions about the silver rate in Khandwa.
What is the silver rate today in Khandwa?
The live silver rate in Khandwa is shown at the top of this page per gram, per 100 grams and per kilogram, refreshed every minute during market hours. It is the 999 fine silver bullion rate before GST.
Is silver priced per gram or per kilogram in India?
The trade quotes silver per kilogram — a bullion dealer's board will read something like ₹2,33,800 per kg. Retail buyers usually see a per-gram figure for small articles. Both are on this page; they are the same number scaled by a thousand.
What is 999 silver?
999 is fine silver, 99.9% pure, and is what bars, coins and the bullion rate refer to. Most silver jewellery and articles are made from 925 sterling silver (92.5% pure), which is harder and holds its shape; utensils and payal are often somewhere in between, so ask for the purity in writing.
Is GST charged on silver?
Yes — 3% GST applies to silver jewellery, coins and bars, the same as gold, and 5% on making charges billed separately. The rate on this page is before tax.
Why does the silver rate move more sharply than gold?
Silver is a much smaller market than gold and has heavy industrial demand — solar panels, electronics and electrical contacts — so it reacts to both investment sentiment and industrial cycles. Day-to-day percentage swings are routinely two to three times gold's.
What rate do I get when selling old silver?
Silver is bought back against the fine (999) rate adjusted for tested purity, less a refining deduction that is proportionally larger than gold's because silver is worth less per gram to process. Articles with enamel, stones or lac filling are weighed net of the filling.
